37 Weeks Pregnant With Baby Number 3

Well, I never thought I’d get to 37 weeks but here I am.

I have had a much better week with less appointments and more family time and it really has made all the difference to my mood.

We even got a sneaky family trip to Knowsley Safari Park this weekend which was lovely and a bit weird too as it may well be our last family trip as a family of four.

The children loved seeing all the animals. Usually, I would have had them both in the front with me but there is a rather large bump in the way so Boo rode up front around the safari drive with daddy and I sat in the back with G.

G loved the rhinos and thought they were dinosaurs and Boo loved the monkeys after being sure they wouldn’t come into the window at her.

I have experienced all of the symptoms you would expect at this stage of pregnancy-swollen ankles, tiredness and frequent night time toilet breaks but as silly as this sounds, as I know it is my last pregnancy, I am trying to savour every last symptom now. Especially those lovely baby kicks.

I am not going to lie, I am dreading the birth. I had steroid injections this week as it is now protocol at my hospital for any mother giving birth before 39 weeks to have the steroids to prepare the baby’s lungs for birth. It wasn’t as bad as I had been told. I just squeezed the bed a bit when it went in.

I am just trying to think that it will be over soon and I will hopefully have a lovely baby at the end of it.

Let’s just hope for a quick hospital stay and a swift c-section recovery.

In the end, the decision for the birth was out of my hands. There is just too much liquid to give birth safely the other way and the baby is still transverse so it had to be a section.

Having had a vaginal and a caesarean with the other two, I would choose the former every time but, like I said, the choice was not mine to make.

I just hope whoever does the caesarean is wearing wellies as I think I may well flood the operating theatre with the amount of fluid in there.

So I am hoping this will be my last, ever, pregnancy update and, that when I write again, it will be to report on a healthy baby.

I do have some material scheduled because I can’t always turn off from the blog but I am hoping for a little baby moon as a family of five.

Thank you everyone who has followed my journey. Please keep everything crossed and feel free to say a little prayer of you are that way inclined.

Wish me luck.
