5 Animals I Want on the Farm This Year

01.

Earlier this year, I wrote a post about plans. Animal plans. Now I am a firm believer that of you reveal plans, they may not happen.

Therefore, the following list is not a plan. It is a wishlist.

Which animals would I like on the farm?

A pet sheep. I know. I know. The death of Minty has left a huge sheep-sized hole in my life. Added to that our new Suffolk rams promise really cute black lambs so I started the pet-lamb campaign as early as January with Hubster and he hasn’t said no. I think even he misses Minty.

2. Rabbits. The escaped rabbits have also left a hole-this time a hutch shaped one. I know G would love rabbits as Boo definitely does. They really are an easy first pet for children to learn about creatures and responsibility.*

3. Pigs. I nearly got a little piggy for my birthday last year but Hubster changed his mind at the last minute. As soon as I can put plans into place, I am going to look into this one more closely.

4. Chicks. I already have my feelers out for hatching eggs for Easter chicks. I am hoping to find some Aracuana eggs which are a beautiful turquoise-green colour so if they hatch hens, I would have a very pretty egg bowl of colours.

5. Goat babies. I know i already have two goats but surely another two wouldn’t hurt. In fact, they would probably all get on. I don’t know if this one is a step too far but we will see when little goatlettes start being advertised.

*I may have put my name down on a litter of bunny babies. Ssshhhh.

  1. Ooh baby bunnies, too cute! My girls want bunnies too but I’m not sure it’s going to happen here any time soon. I look forward to following your animal antics during the year.
