The Cake & Bake show, in association with Neff, completed its tour of the UK at Manchester‘s EventCity this month, co-locating for the first time ever with the Ideal Home Show at Christmas. Over 44,000 visitors flocked to the show at EventCity in Manchester to seek out inspiration and expertise from top names in the world of baking.

It was a feature-packed Cake & Bake Show and one of the star attractions was the brand new GBBO Live Stage. Packed audiences cheered the headline act, newly crowned champion Nadiya Hussain alongside her fellow finalists Tamil Ray and Ian Cumming. Other appearances came from past winners including Jo Wheatley, John Whaite and Frances Quinn plus a host of past contestants. The Super Theatre saw baking luminaries such as Eric Lanlard, Rosemary Shrager and Phil Vickery bring their craft alive with crowd-pleasing demos.

Another winning feature was The Story Telling Chair created by cake designer and Guinness Book of Records holder, Jacqui Kelly, comprising a huge scale armchair surrounded by an oversized stack of sugar crafted books and story book characters from favourite childhood tales.

Rob Nathan, Marketing Director at Media Ten says:

We have been delighted with the consumer response to the show this year which has exceeded expectations. The UK’s love for all things baking just continues to rise with viewing figures of 13.4M for last month’s final of the Great British Bake Off bearing this out. Our new feature, The Great British Bake Off Live Stage, has been a great addition to this fantastic celebration of the nation’s favourite pastime.’

Andy Orr, Managing Director of EventCity says:

We were thrilled to welcome back the Media Ten team and Ideal Home Show at Christmas and of course, this year also saw the co-location of the Cake & Bake Show. With a huge attendance of 44,000, this was our busiest and most successful event to date.”
