A Summer Field Trip

As the weather was so nice last week, Boo and I decided to go for a walk across the fields.

I ashamedly, hadn’t walked over there for years.

I suppose before, I would have had to take the pram which, if anyone has tried to push a (non-off-road) pram over fields will agree, it is near impossible.

Boo found this out for herself when she insisted that Minnie and the pram came along for the ride.

They were quickly abandoned.

Another reason we haven’t been is that until recently, there were cows and calves in said fields. Anyone will tell you not to enter a field of cows with youngsters. When you hear of people being trampled by cows, it is usually because they are protecting their young.

I never really fancied running for my life humping a toddler too. I don’t think we would have made it.

So with no cows in the fields and, the fact that it had been dry for a few days, off we went, complete with a drink, a snack and Boo’s wellies in case it got muddy (Lelli Kelly’s and farms don’t mix).

Thankfully it was not muddy anywhere.

sheep

Some sheep and their lambs were in the fields and skipped away when they saw us.

It really was a beautiful day and we are very lucky to have such activities available on our doorstep.

POND

After a while, we came to a pond. We do have a few of them but this is one of my favourites.

There are trees around the outside hanging in and it was lovely being able to sit near water.

I do wish we had taken fishing nets but it was still nice to look at the little fish-type creatures.

We sat down and had a drink and a snack and then headed back, picking Minnie and the pram up on the way.

VIEW

It was so lovely and we are definitely going to go walking over the fields more often.

  1. Looks beautiful. I love walking across the fields that surround our home. I did giggle at the dolls pram, it’s the same for a scooter across fields – hee hee!

  2. Lovely field walking – you never know what you might come across. How lucky to have this beauty to explore, thanks for linking up and sharing your fun with Country Kids.

  3. OMG! I just remembered walking in the middle of cows before and I only felt the fear now. I thought that they friendly w/o thinking that they might hurt us.

I love this trip of yours! Clear sky and clear fields is a nice way to spend a sunny day =)
