Boo and Baby’s first trip to the Cinema

Sometimes it is the little things in life that can leave joy in your heart.

The last time I went to the cinema was 2008. I know. Hubster hates the cinema-apparently he gets restless leg syndrome (only in there) but he point blank refuses to go.

I had accepted this. I waited for things to come out on DVD or on Sky to watch.

I had put off taking Boo as she is quite afraid of loud noises and I doubted her abilities to sit for that long.

This weekend however, I made use of the offer on at our local Cineworld where you can watch a film for £1.75 per adult and child (Baby G was free despite them allocating him a seat).

We watched Paddington which I know was out last year but we haven’t seen it and it was the actual going to the cinema rather than the film.

Thankfully we arrived early enough that the lighting was only dimmed so when the lights did go down, it wasn’t as much as a shock for her.

I honestly think I underestimated her. She absolutely loved the whole experience-the pick-a-mix, the dark, the ‘big telly’ and everything.

I did worry also that G would fidget but they seated us near the front and there was a massive space on the floor in front of us so he had a good crawl around, climbed me a couple of times, was rescued three times from falling under the seats below and then fell asleep.

I am so excited that I can finally go to the cinema again and I am actually looking ahead already at what Christmassy films are due out.

Yay.

  1. I love the local Cineworld and the movies for juniors is such good value. I was amazed the first time I took O just how good he was, he loved it. You’ve made me want to go now (off to look what films are on!) xx

    1. He he I saw a trailer for the chipmunks and peanuts. I’ll have to train her up for the romcoms 😉
