Chef’s Counter at Brewers Fayre-A Review

image

We were recently invited to our local Brewers Fayre pub to try out their new Chef’s Counter where you can try a different menu, every night of the week.

There is an exciting range of cuisine to choose from so we did think about it for quite a while. It’s a big decision.

We eventually went for curry night on a Thursday. We arrived at our local Brewers Fayre which is Winwick Quay in Warrington and the concierge showed is to our table.

A high chair was sourced for Baby G and he settled in very well, just checking out his surroundings and, as usual, watching his sister-his favourite source of entertainment.

We don’t go out very often so Boo was very excited to be allowed ‘black juice’ (diet cola) and she decided she wanted to order off the kids menu-going for chicken nuggets, chops and beans.

The Chef’s Counter was explained to us by our lovely waitress, Rebecca. Once we decided that the Chef’s Counter was what we wanted, we were given a ticket and we them took that up to the counter, gave it to the chef who expertly told us what was on offer.

He had no need to as it was fully labelled but it was really nice to be shown too.

There were sundries like poppadoms, naan bread and sweet potatoe bajis which were delicious.

I didn’t see the salad or the coconut which is on the menu but, to be fair, I didn’t ask so it may have been there and I missed it.

For mains, Hubster went for Chicken Tikka while I had the Goan vegetable option with a bit of Saag Aloo. There was the choice of plain or pilau rice and, being a buffet, you could go up there as much as you liked.

I love buffet. My waistline probably doesn’t agree but nevertheless, Chef’s Counter is right up my street.

The fact that you can visit on different nights of the week and eat different themed meals is also an appealing idea to me.

The night we visited, there had been a crash o. One of the motorways so traffic getting into Warrington was a nightmare resulting in a hungry and very grumpy Boo.

Despite her greatest efforts, her behaviour did not marr our trip and we consoled ourself I’m desert which, as always, made everything better.

We really enjoyed our meal at Brewers Fayre and their new Chef’s Counter.

Why not visit for yourself and see for yourself?

*We were invited to review Chef’s Counter for the purpose of this review but all options are my own.
