Freddie’s Farm Fruit Snacks-A Review

We all know we should eat more healthily, shop local and buy British but what about children’s snacks? Fish fruit and vegetables are always the go to thing but every parent knows the benefit of something quick in a packet-especially to stash in your handbag or change bag for those emergencies when only a snack will do.

Thankfully, the children were sent a selection of fruit shapes from Freddie’s Farm where raspberries, blueberries and apples are grown, processed and  packaged at their farm and then shipped in cardboard packaging which cannot only be recycled but will fit through most letter boxes.

They were a big hit here. Thankfully each child picked one flavour as their favourite so that avoided any arguments.

As is generally the case, I was faffing about with something else and the youngest offered me one of the shapes and I marvelled how it looked like a tractor. Thinking my mind was playing tricks on me (we are in the middle of straw gathering as I write this), I was therefore delighted to look at the packet and see that tractors do make up the shapes as well as apples, pigs and trees.

It seems like every thought has gone into making these little packets of goodness.

Four year old Freddie is joined in the family business by his mummy, Laurie, Daddy Charlie and a baby sister.

The farm is in fact a fruit farm in Kent and Dad Charlie is a multi award winning farmer for his work in diversification.

The tag line for the business is: From Freddie’s Farm to Your Family” and I think this really does prove what a lovely, family orientated business it is.

In life it seems people would, sadly prefer to bring people down than congratulate them on success and hard work. I am not like that at all and, in farming, I love to highlight people and businesses who have thought of something new and are having a great time while they fulfil their dreams.

The snacks contain nothing else but fruit and go towards one of your five-a-day. Each multipack also has a free gift which you can grow at home and learn to become a farmer just like Freddie. I think that is a lovely extra touch.

You can find out more on the Freddie’s Farm Facebook page, website or check out their Amazon store where all purchases can be made.

*We were sent a pack of delicious snacks from Freddie’s Farm for the purpose of this review but all opinions are my own.
