We love horses here at the farm and I would like to encourage Boo to get into horses through playing horse games as I think looking after animals is good for children.
After all, surely a girl who likes horses is less likely to get into boys right? That is my hope, anyway. I can only dream.
She is only four so we have been reluctant to buy her a real pony yet as it would end up being Hubster and I who would be cleaning it out every day.
At the moment, she is happy with horse clothes
Playing with horse toys
and playing horse games on the computer.
One of her favourite horse games is Star Stable which is fun, yet educational.
You download the game onto your device or laptop and get to choose how your character and horse looks.
You get given quests which you have to complete and work through to reach different levels and reach different areas like the horse transport and different arenas.
We spoke to someone in the game who said we had to speak to someone else and this was our first task.
The video graphics are simple and bright and the game itself is easy to navigate.
There are no flashing images which I am glad of as I do worry about young eyes.
Boo seemed quite excited when her character got on the horse. I just hope she will be as enthusiastic next time she gets on a real one.
There are options to play the game live, online and you can interact with other players.
The game is aimed at children right up to teens but I must confess to have had a go (or seven) when Boo has gone to bed and I am getting quite good at galloping, if only virtually.
We will continue horsing around until Boo is ready to have a real pony of her own and, until then, I will just have to continue stroking other people’s and playing Star Stable.
*We were asked to write this post by Star Stable in return for some free levels in the game. All opinions are my own.
