  1. Some excellent points made. My blog is too small and new to attract anything, but I have lots of blogger friends who are having to think a lot about these issues at the moment. From what I have seen, there are a few companies and PRs who are essentially trying it on, and hoping that bloggers will be too naive enough to question recompense. The existence of several forums which discuss these issues and advise bloggers seems to have totally passed them by. There clearly does need to be more communication from both parties.
    Thank you

  2. It’s an interesting thing to think about, for sure! I think it would be a difficult sector to unionise because for many people it’s a side job or even just a hobby, but I imagine as more and more people become professional bloggers better regulation will have to be agreed on somehow.

  3. hummm… really interesting Emma. I think it would be really helpful to have more transparency/set standards but I can’t imagine how someone would go about putting that in place. I also agree with Jessica, as it’s not a relied upon form of income for many it makes it tricky to regulate. Even journalism is harder to regulate now I think. Look at the HuffPost, they don’t pay for articles and many other organizations have followed their lead.
