Mother’s Day Crafts

The new baby is really making me struggle to remember what day it is, so imagine my surprise to realise Mother’s Day is just around the corner.

While, in an ideal world, Hubster would provide the children with diamonds to shower mummy with, I fear this is unlikely.

I therefore decided to have a crafting afternoon with Boo and we made Mother’s Day plant crafts.
These are really cute kits where the child or, in our case, mummy, draws around your hand, you cut it out, stick flowers and other stickers on and it turns into a lovely hanging plant pot which and mummy or nana would be proud of.

Boo is a very headstrong girl and didn’t want me to draw around her hand or indeed follow any of the instructions and who am I to stop her artistic streak? So I just let her get on with it.

I had a little tear in my eye about the poem on the plant pot so baby hormones are still well and truly raging but it was such a lovely activity to do together.

Next we had a go at some stand up, wooden rabbit figures. Now I realise many people associate rabbits with Easter but we are bunny mad all year round and with it being nearly Easter, what better excuse did we need?

We coloured the rabbits in with some amazing poster paint pens. I have never heard of them before but they go on really smoothly like a crayon but the finish is like a paint. I was really impressed.

Artistic license was in full throttle from Boo again but I really enjoyed myself again.

Unfortunately, the printing extended and Boo got her hands on some different paint which she proceeded to paint herself and some of the kitchen with. Oh dear.

I am still finding blue finger prints around and about.

We love crafts.

*We were send the craft materials by Baker Ross for the purpose of this review but all opinions are my own and Boo’s artistic talent is definitely her own.
