Mummy love-when nothing else really matters

All children develop at different times.

I remember stressing over my daughter crawling and walking.

As a shoe-fanatic myself, I was simply dying to get Boo her first pair of shoes.

Fast forward over a year and boy am I regretting being so eager.

As she was a late walker however, I have faired better than many parents. Just imagine, if your child starts walking at nine months, with growth rates at that age being much faster than they are when they get older, you are looking at an extra Ā£30 a month on shoes.

So when Boo eventually decided to get off her little bottom at 21 and a half months, I was so pleased.

We have had some problems with the beautiful Boo (a story for another time and place) but she is coming along fine.

I was talking to a doctor about her and she quite rightly said-if she was later doing some things, it follows that she may be later doing others.

Talking became my next neurosis after walking.

I am pleased to say she is coming on a lot more now but it was two little words this week that have provided me with one of the happiest moments of motherhood.

Love you.

I did a little excited dance around the kitchen when she said it.

I am an emotional person. I must tell this little girl that I love her a zillion times a day. Iā€™m not going to lie, I was upset the same day because she said it to Nana first.

However later that evening, she said it to me.

Love you Mum.

That is all.

  1. My Monkey was the last to crawl, walk and talk. He’s just turned 4 and this afternoon he sang a whole nursery rhyme song to me from start to finish, the first time. His friends have been doing that for a year or two. They all get there in the end, I sometimes think my moments are more magical, because I wait so long for them! #magicmoments

  2. Awww what a #MagicMoment Sometimes I do get the feeling amongst other parents that its all a race for when baby will crawl and walk etc… But all children do this at their own leisure!. My daughter is 9 months and shows no signs in crawling, but yet I know loads of other babies that are doing this already and have been for a while now.. But im ok with that, because shes my 3rd, I know exactly what comes next! šŸ™‚ hehe
