My life saving Clutch Bag

image

I recently bought a clutch bag.

I know. Not ground-breaking in any way.

However, this small, orange bag has saved me a lot of time and headaches on the last week or so and I thought I would explain how and maybe help some of you.

When I leave the house, my baby changing bag is always ready. All Baby G’s essentials and whatever I think Boo will need (unless she is at nursery).

On a number of occasions though I have got to my destination and forgotten something essential. Like my purse or my phone.

So, I bought the clutch bag to put my essentials inside.

Lipstick, nail file, perfume, phone and purse so that when I am going out with the children I can just pop it into the changing bag and, on the rare occasion I go out on my own, I am no longer delving into the crumbs and the wet wipes in the changing bag for a furry piece of chewing gum or an old lipstick with fluff stuck to it.

I feel so organised. It is so unlike me.

I’m not saying I am completely changed person. I mean you have to remember to actually put the bag into the changing bag but come on, it’s a start.

Instead of flying back from the car furiously looking for 17 things I needed to take with me, I now just have to grab the clutch bag.

I even managed to squash a pen, notebook and phone charger inside. Anyone would think I was a blogger or something.

I feel like I am doing the nesting I should have been doing in late pregnancy. I may be almost six months late to the nesting party but at least I showed up eventually.

Honest, you don’t need to thank me. Go-buy yourself a clutch.

  1. What a beautiful bag and what a great idea! Such a lovely way to stay organised and actually have something that’s nice and your own to take out. I did start to wonder for a while if I was always going to have a changing bag handbag, but I recently caved and bought a big nice handbag instead and now use this everyday. The downsides to doing this is that I have to rummage around through nappies etc for my keys. This is a much better idea! xx #maternitymondays

  2. Ooh I like this idea, Im always forgetting things. I check them off in my head as I’m leaving but usually end up searching through the changing bag to check they are in there! #maternitymondays

  3. This is such a clever idea! I remember constantly searching the depths of the changing bag for my bits haha. Will keep this in mind when the changing bags back out again xx

  4. I love to be organised so I can try and leave the house stress free, this is a genius idea! #maternitymmondays

  5. Emma this is a genius idea! I so need to do this, my phone is usually in my pocket .. unless I am wearing a skirt, then god only knows where it is! So going to copy you, thanks for sharing! xx #MaternityMondays

  6. Pure Genius! the last 12 years of parenting could have looked so much different! I’m going to get myself one! But I’ll have to find my keys and purse 1st!

  7. Oh … being really organised; something I continue to strive for. The clutch bag sounds good. I’ve got a tablet bag that I use, but I need to pack it the night before to actually get the most out of it. #MaternityMonday
