My Year In Books 2021

I started off my reading year in 2021 with no pressure. I hardly read any books in 2020 due to home schooling and generally not really feeling like it.

I had thought I had read 16 books in 2021 but my maths skill, being true to form, were mistaken so, as I collated the list for this blog post, I realised it was actually 15.

It is not a competition so I am happy with my magic number and hope to continue with the reading in 2022.

All but three of the books were farm or countryside related which I think is commendable but it is what I am interested in is I suppose not surprising.

Looking back at the list, I would say my favourites were A Year At The Chateau by Dick and Angel Strawbridge, The Farm At The Edge of the World by Sarah Vaughan and Appleby Farm by Cathy Bramley.

Farming, Celebs and Plum Pudding Pigs by Celebs on the Farm’s Farmer Chris also deserves a special mention because I reviewed it and it was very entertaining.

Here is the full list:

  1. The Christmas Wish List by Heidi Swain.
    2. A Year At The Chateau by Dick and Angel Strawbridge.
    3. The Confession by Jessie Burton.
    4. Tales From the Farm by Amanda Owen.
    5. Tidelands by Philippa Gregory.Living Off The Land by Lorraine Turnbull.
    6. Growing Goats and Girls by Rosanne Hodin.
    7. Living Our Best Lives by The Nicholson Family.
    8. Pigs In Clover by Simon Dawson.
    9. Finding Hope at Hillside Farm by Rachel Lucas.
    10. The Farm At The Edge of the World by Sarah Vaughan.
    11. The Sty’s the Limit by Simon Dawson.
    12. Farming, Celebs and Plum Pudding Pigs by Chris Jeffery.
    13. Appleby Farm by Cathy Bramley.
    14. Escape to the Country by Patsy Collins.

I received two books for Christmas and I still have my Yorkshire Shepherdess book I got when I saw he on tour last year so, with some others on my eye, my 2022 reading list is looking healthy already.

What do you plan to read this year?
