After my last pet buying post, I thought writing it down on my blog (http://farmerswifeandmummy.wordpress.com/2013/09/29/impulsive-pet-buying-again/) may have cured me.
Wrong. It didn’t.
I decided Clover the rabbit (named after the rabbit in Sophia the First) needed a friend.
After days of researching on local pet shops and sites, I plumped for a two-year-old lop with a hutch included.
I thought all lop rabbits were the same. When I went to pick Coco up, she just looked like any other rabbit.
It was only when I got her home that I realised she was at least three times bigger than Clover.
Apparently, there are giant lops.
They do seem to be getting on so I’m not too bothered but my can they eat.
Sometimes Clover would only need feeding every couple of days. This giant bunny goes through two bowls (with Clover) a day and I think they would eat more if I gave it to them.
I am so lucky that, as long as I look after them, my husband doesn’t really mind what pets I get.
Living on a farm, we have more than enough room.
When I was growing up I did have a rabbit and countless fish and hamsters but my Dad has asthma and is allergic to pet fur so I was restricted as to what and how many pets I could have. Quite right too I suppose in a house.
I couldn’t have wished for a more perfect home setting for me though on the farm. My petting zoo is really coming on now.
Think I have done? I haven’t.
I’m now on the look out for a mini-lop male so we can have Easter bunnies!!
Haven’t broken that to the hubster yet though.
