Photo books-the new photo albums. What I do.

I love taking photos. I must take 100 a week, easy. Before Boo it was Rosie the dog who was my favourite subject.
Boo has taken over Rosie I’m afraid. When she was first born, Hubster warned me that our daughter was going to think her mummy’s face had a camera or a phone attached to it because I took so many.

When you first have a baby you get loads of offers for free or reduced price photo books. As everything is digital now, no one really uses photo albums so I suppose these photo books are the equivalent.
I got a photo book to mark Boo’s first year but what then? What about every other year?
Well, I then got one for her second year and now I feel as though I have to carry it on.
I take so many photos that it is sometimes hard to pick. I try to group the photos I take into months as I go along or into seasons or events like Christmas, summer or Easter.

I recently collated her third photo book to mark years two to three. I made a bit of a mistake in that the last two books had been A4 but this was smaller but I don’t think it matters.

My mum did an album of my first year and she still has it. It is lovely to look back on and I hope Boo will equally love to look back on our life together when she is older.
I worry that if we (hopefully) ever have another child that I will end up having to create two photo books a year but, it is a small price to pay to nostalgically look back on my child growing up.
Sometimes I feel that, as a farmer’s wife, that we don’t do as many ‘things’ as none-farming families. We don’t go on holidays and have fewer family days out than other people. However looking back at our life in photos from the past year for the latest photo book, it made me feel thankful for what we do have. The days we do spend together are special and the days that are spent at home are equally as special because unlike some daddies, Hubster is usually just in the yard or the field and we can walk to meet him.
I thank God every day for my Booble. Photo books are my way of looking back at her growing up.

That’s what being a parent is all about.

  6. Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this website.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very hard to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual
appeal. I must say that you’ve done a superb
job with this. Additionally, the blog loads super quick for me on Safari.
    Excellent Blog!
