Siblings December, 2018

It’s been full on Christmassing since the last siblings post which makes me laugh because actual Christmas Day won’t be documented on here until the January post.

Excitement has been building for weeks at the farm and many, many questions have been asked. Mainly could they go to the North Pole and can little boys go and see Baby Jesus. There have been times when I have just had to say I don’t know or, I don’t know how to answer that.

It has been party central and, at this time of year, it is fair to say that my children have a better social life than I have ever had. They each have a couple of festive outfits so they have been on a constant wash and dry cycle to get them ready for the next event.

G was the lead in his nursery Christmas production of Old Sam and Boo was a donkey at her school. I managed to keep the tears in at the nursery one but oh, my. If you ever want the cockles of your heart warming, go and see a Christmas play at a special school. It would warm the cockles of even the biggest Scrooge.

The siblings have been getting on ok this month. The baby is still vying for attention from both of his older siblings and, while it is G who he radiated to most, there was a moment when he was playing on the floor with his big sister and I just had to get a photo.

The boys knocked the tree over the first weekend it was up so I ended up putting another one up (am I a glutton for punishment?) to allow them to play with the decorations on one and leave my special ‘grown up’ tree alone. It was had much more success than I imagined.

We went seeing Father Christmas at our local village fair which was lovely and I can’t wait to see how the children cope with Christmas Day.

At this time of year, I feel blessed with my three musketeers. There is always someone to play with here and make up little games.

This is my second full year of writing about my siblings each month and it just highlights how quickly they grow.I thought it would be the baby who had changed the most as I looked back and he obviously has turned into a little boy from a baby but it shocked me too seeing how much the bigger two had grown too.

My babies are growing up.
