The Big Country Christmas Giveaway Bonanza

As it is November now, I can officially mention the ‘C’ word. Who am I kidding? I have been dreaming of Christmas since the end of August and I have winter scented candles all year round.

I love looking for quirky country gifts at Christmas-both for myself and for other people and, if that means I am helping fellow-farmers and small businesses, then so much the better.

This year, I have come up with my ultimate Country Christmas Gift list. Not only that, as Christmas is the season of good will and giving, you will have the chance, at the end of the post to win all of the items in my list for yourself.

First up are these lovely pheasant feather baubles from Fabulous Pheasant. Based near Edinburgh, Alison McManus created the company in April 2015 and has gone from strength to strength.

From brooches, feather pins, sporrans and home decor, her creations are breathtaking and I have a brooch on my Christmas list. The baubles are exquisite and consist of a glass bauble filled with unique game features and finished off with gun cartridge cap. I think they would look amazing on any tree but especially ones with a country theme. Is it too early to put the tree up?

Next up is Quirky Cows. I reviewed a range of their cow products earlier in the year and I am pleased to say that they would make the perfect gift for the farm or country lover. From cows to sheep and donkeys, you can get these adorable animals as prints, mugs and a variety of other household items.

Every country-loving lady or gent has to love a good book and, for me, you can’t get much better than the books by author, writer, blogger and my friend, the Irish Farmerette aka Lorna Sixsmith. An Ideal Farm Husband, Would You Marry a Farmer and How to Be the Perfect Farm Wife are all the perfect mix of humour and tips to amuse readers of all ages. Do check out Lorna’s website, her blog is brilliant.

Perkins and Morley is a lovely, online store stocking original giftware such as calendars, bags and homewares. Run by Jill Perkins and Jan Morley, they have been a designing duo since 1987.

Jan is often walking the stunning valleys and fells of Cumbria with a camera and drawing equipment, while Jill sketches and paints in Devon, surrounded by beautiful coastlines and countryside and it really shows in their work. I love this sheep chalkboard which is perfect for the wall of any country home for those notes (or instructions) which all too often get missed.

No country dinner party would be complete without a lovely box of chocolates at the end of it. I class myself as a chocolate connoisseur and I have never, ever tasted anything as lovely as this box from Chocolates for Chocaholics. Based on a farm in Reading, the team at Chocolates for Chocoholics import and sell luxury chocolates from a variety of specialist chocolatiers in Europe. Not only that, but they have developed a Chocolate Party Plan concept which has really caught the imagination of Chocoholics all over the UK. Everyone from individual customers, fundraisers, farm shops and PTA’s can make some money by selling their range. Further details can be found on our website.

Last but certainly not least are these amazing gun cartridge wreaths from fellow blogger, Game Keeper’s Wife and Mummy. Nikki’s business is on the new side but this busy mum really thinks big and has an impressive portfolio of wreaths and other country-esque items which are so clever and will be the talking point of any home. I ordered a wreath for myself and I am already thinking of excuses as to why my cartridge wreath can adorn my walls all year round.

Why an impressive group of people.

As I mentioned before, you have the chance to win everything on my country gift guide. All you have to do is like the Facebook pages of all the companies above, and my own. For everyone who likes and shares the competition post on Facebook, a runner up well also be picked to receive a special Farmer’s Wife and Mummy Mug.
