Having a four year age gap between my children can mean finding something they can both play with is difficult.
We recently found the Vtech Toot Toot Animals Farm at House of Fraser though and, aimed at ages one to five, I think we struck gold.
My only piece of advice about the toy would be to put it together the first time alone. Having two excited children eager to play, hindered my building somewhat but, once it was done, hours of fun have ensued.
The pack comes with one animal-a cow (more are available to buy separately) which can be played with on its own. This was my saving grace whilst putting it together.
The pieces fit together really easily and, following the photo on the box, it didn’t take long to do.
There are so many different areas to the play set. Two barns, little roads which the animals can be pushed along, and lots of buttons and levers to press.
Once the batteries are in place, there is also educational songs from the playset itself and lights which really appealed to the Baby.
It also has nine Smartpoint locations which respond to the animals with fun phrases, animal and nature sound effects and melodies.
There is a feeding area where carrots pop up to feed the animals. Even I loved this bit.
I think all of our favourite bit though is the slide. If you place an animal on the slide and tip it up, not only does a special song play bit the cow slides right through the barn and down the slide-much to the delight of us all.
I find the bet toys are those which entertain the parents-I actually love to watch both of their faces while they play with the Toot Toot Animal farm.
Equally though, to know that a toy will keep both children entertained long enough for me to go and put the oven on is important too and this certainly ticks both of these boxes and more.
The sheer amount of features on the toy really does mean that there are many aspects to it which haven’t been discovered by them both-even after a week of playing and I am happy to let them find out for themselves.
With having two playing with the set, I think I will be buying another animal sooner rather that later to avoid the ‘mine’ incidents which seem to be happening a lot more often these days.
At least I know what to ask people for should they ask what Baby G would like for Christmas.
With almost five years of toy playing with little ones under my belt, I feel like I know my stuff when it comes to good toys. With so many new things coming out each year, I did wonder what to buy Baby G for Christmas and his birthday which comes so soon after the festive season.
Taking all these things into account, I can honestly say, the Toot Toot Animals Farm is one of the best toys we have ever played with and I would sincerely recommend it.
Not only that, it also fits with other items in the Vtech Toot Toot range.
Obviously the farm theme helps here but, it is such a great toy with such a wide-ranging age reach that I think all children would find it a winner.
It certainly gets the thumbs up from us.
House of Fraser stocks a wide range of toys and they have offers on all of the time. At the time of writing, the Toot Toot Animals Farm should have been the RRP of £42.99 but is currently on offer at £34.39-a perfect discount for Christmas.
*We were sent the Vtech Toot Toot Animals Farm from House of Fraser for the purpose of this review but all opinions are true and our own. Please also excuse some of Baby G’s outfits in the photos-he is still wearing his sister’s hand-me-downs but I honestly think he rocks the pink.
