Trolley Bags-Shopping Made Easy

I think since the carrier bag charge came in, people fall into one of two camps-the bag rememberer’s and the bag forgetters.

I am sure you can guess which camp I fall into. That’s right. I have managed to pack a lot of shopping into one or two 5p bags which I like to commend myself with. That and the fact that I usually have a bottle of Pepsi Max and a bag of nappies rolling around my boot at any given time.

I have bags of bags hanging on a chair in my kitchen as well as in the boot of my car. I have no excuse but it feels like such an effort to keep baby G in the seat for the whole of the shopping trip that carrier bags are the last thing on my mind.

When Trolley Bags got in touch to see if I would like to review some of their reusable carrier bags, I did a little jig around my laptop. I had asked my mum to buy me some for my birthday-which isn’t until October.

Finally, the answer to my problems.

They arrived and I couldn’t wait to have a go.

I can cope at ordinary supermarkets where you can leisurely pack your shopping at the check out but the low-budget ones where speed and time is of the essence, just make me feel jittery so I decided to try them out there.

They just hang over the handle of your trolley so you can shop as you usually would. Boo was with me. Thankfully, my parents had G.

When we got to the checkout, that was when the fun began. Once all the shopping was unloaded onto the conveyor belt (with Boo’s help), I unfolded all the bags ready for packing.

Instead of being on the verge of heart palpitations at the speed of the shopping being passed back to me, I used the colour coded bags for the different items:

Blue for frozen, Green for fresh, Orange for dry goods and tins and red for fridge items. Other people may use theirs differently but it worked for us.

The best bit was that I didn’t have to pack all the bags in the boot, like I used to do. I just lifted the full trolley bags into the boot, belted Boo and drove to get G.

The Trolley Bags come in two sizes-one lot for a deep trolley like the ones I received and smaller ones for the more shallow trolley. I think if you have children who still sit in the trolley seat, then the larger ones are your only option.

Trolley Bags cost £19.99 plus delivery.

  1. I think I might have to invest in these, would be great for those trips to Aldi where I always end up packing the bags at the car

  2. Ooo I’d love to review one of these, I have fancied one for ages but currently use a stack of bags which are stored in my car boot ranging from Frozen to Spiderman.
