The Stick Man-Coming this Christmas to a Forest Near You

Something very exciting is happening this Christmas.

This year, it is all about the Stick Man.

The new adaptation will be shown on Christmas Day at 16.45 and we can’t wait.

Already big fans of Room on the Broom and the Gruffalo, we will be there waiting patiently for this one.

When the excesses of Christmas are over though, the story of the Stick Man will be kept alive thanks to the Forestry Commission.

What better way to get some fresh air and work off some of those Christmas calories than visiting your local forest?

Following on from their successful Gruffalo trails, the Stick Man trails are proving to be just as popular.

There are 24 Stick Man trails in all corners of England so there is bound to be one near you.

Join Stick Man on his quest to the family tree! Pick up an activity pack from the forest, follow the trail and complete fun activities along the way.

Each participating forest will also be selling Trail Activity packs at just £3 each which will delight young visitors.

Inside you will find a Stick Man Activity Trail guide complete with tick boxes for your children to use, instructions and equipment to make a bark rubbing, a booklet to take home and complete-remembering their Stick Man Trail and some pipe cleaners to make their own Stick Man.

While following the trail route, children and families can take part in activities based on their favourite book character.
The trail will lead you through the forest using activity points allowing you to live the epic adventures of Stick Man, whilst also learning about the importance of forests for people, wildlife and timber.

Sometimes, after what seems like days of being inside, getting outside can be the most brilliant idea, ever. Especially with kids.

Ban the Cabin fever this Christmas and go and get sticky with the Forestry Commission and the Stick Man.
