Brighten up your plant pots with Rust-Oleum

Plant pots.

They’re a bit boring really.

All my pots were either brown or green and, while different coloured plant pots are now available, I just couldn’t help thinking it would be a waste of money to replace them all.

Thankfully, I had an idea, I could spray the plant pots I already had.

Genius.

Rust-Oleum sprays came to the rescue and there are so many different colours to choose from, the world or your garden is your oyster.

I did consider taking the red and cream from my kitchen outside but I don’t think I have enough tropical colours in my life and, seeing as we won’t be going on holiday any time soon, I have made my own little paradise in the middle of a farm.

I began by brushing all the dirt off the pots and washing them.

Then, after they were dry, the spraying began.

We have a picket fence so I upturned the pots on the fence and sprayed.

I opted for a sunny yellow colour and a Barbie pink.

The brown was quite dark so the yellow took three coats but the pink only took two.

When the underside was dry, I turned the pots the right way around and sprayed the lip. I also recommend spraying about four inches inside the pot as you will still see the colour unless you fill the pot with soil right up to the top.

I left to dry for a full 24hours before adding any compost and then I chose some bright plants to compliment my new pots.

I really love my new pots and they look so good with my new garden chairs. I am considering updating some more garden furniture with Rust-Oleum. It goes so far. I’ve still got loads left so the dog may even get sprayed.*

All we need now is the sun.

*Please don’t dye your pets with Rustoleum.

**We were sent the RUst-Oleum sprays for the purpose of this post but all opinions and ideas are my own.
