Fisher Price My First Thomas and Friends Day to Night Projector-A Review

Recently, we have been trying out the Fisher Price My First Thomas and Friends Day to Night Projector.

We had a projector when Boo was a baby and, I am not sure why, we never really got one for G. It was great for Boo and it taught her night time and settled her from a really early age.

The My First Thomas and Friends Day to Night Projector is suitable from 18 months to actually play with themselves but I think it work equally well from a younger age to lull younger children off to sleep when it is in night time mode.

There is a switch on the top of Tidmouth Sheds and day or night mode can be selected at a slide of the switch. At two, G managed this himself.

By rolling the little Thomas toy in or out of the shed, you activate the music and sounds of which there are many.

In day mode, the light projector lasts around two minutes and the toy plays exciting and cheerful music complete with Thomas’s distinctive Choo choo.

For night time, the songs are more subdued and the sounds are calming with less Thomas sounds and the projector lasts around ten minutes which is great for mesmerising children and encouraging them to self-settle and fall asleep.

G is a big Thomas and Friends fan and his little face was a picture when I set the My First Thomas and Friends Day to Night Projector onto his bedroom carpet to play with for the first time.

I did do a little video but G directed it himself for the most part so it is not the best quality. Despite this, it does capture his excitement and, quite frankly, his amazing dance moves which I am saying he inherits from his mother.

We love that the Tidmouth Sheds works independently from the little train. Parents (and children) can press the sensor button inside the sheds to activate the projector and children can take the little Thomas toy around with them. This means if the train gets mislaid on a toy box, the projector will still work which is an added bonus if you ask me.

The Thomas character is a baby-version. More pastel blue than other Thomas’s we have and I think this added cuteness really helps it be a lovely toy for day or night.

If you think, it is some six years since Boo’s projector was in use and, if the My First Thomas and Friends Day to Night Projector is anything to go by, these toys have come on leaps and bounds in that time.

No longer reserved only for night time, you really get your monies worth here as the toy can be loved and played with in the day time too.

With another baby due any day, it seems My First Thomas and Friends Day to Night Projector will have plenty of use in the months and years to come. That is of course, as long as G doesn’t clam it as his own. If he does though, I for one wouldn’t blame him. It really is a lovely toy.

My First Thomas and Friends Day to Night Projector retails at around £22.99 and we were sent it for the purpose of this review. All opinions and dodgy YouTube clips are our own and we genuinely love the toy.
