Lambing Live 2015 with Britains Farm Toys

So #LambingLive2015 is in full swing and I thought I’d share with you a day-in-the life or a sheep farmer.*

So to begin the ewes are in a field, slightly away from the farm so, we have to load them onto the trailer to bring them nearer the house.

Once here, we leave them to it until birthing begins. If they need help, Hubster goes in. If not, we wait and, when the little lambs are born, what with the wet weather we have had recently and cold nights, they go inside for the first 24 hours.

Then they get loaded back into the trailer or, if they will fit into the back of the car and are taken to the nursery field where they will stay until they are separated later in the year.

*If you haven’t guessed from my (ahem) award winning photography, most of the lambs in the photos were not real.

I kid you not (pun intended).

We were sent a beautiful Land Rover discovery vehicle from Britains Farm Toys Big Farm along with a very apt sheep pen.

We had a lovely afternoon playing with them for the photo shoot and Boo was very impressed with the lights and sounds of the car.

I can’t actually think of any better home for these little sheep and car than here with us. I think the photos prove that farming definitely isn’t just for boys and neither are Britains Farm Toys.

Saying that though, I think Beb will enjoy playing with the toys just as much when he is older.

*We were sent the toys for the purpose of the review but all opinions (and sheep) are my own.

  1. Love the Boo gets to play at being a farmer – I’m sure it’s especially good when Daddy is so busying with lambing that you can act it all out together (in the warmth!)
Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested this week x
