My 5 Favourite Ways to use Coconut Oil

I feel like I am a little late to the coconut oil party which is strange as coconut is one of my favourite things. From visiting the Malibu factory in my early twenties to always opting for the coconut scented toiletries, I don’t know why I haven’t tried it before.

I have been making up for it lately though so I thought I would put together my five favourite ways to use coconut oil, right now.

1.On dry skin. As it is officially fake tan season, my knees are always the parts that give away the fact that my tan is not natural. I’ve been slapping the coconut oil on like there’s no tomorrow.

2.As an oil in cooking-whether I am making stir fry or fried egg, coconut oil lends a lovely flavour to dishes as a healthy alternative to other types of oil.

3.As a butter substitute. I only had enough butter for toast the following morning so, as I put the chicken in the oven for Sunday lunch, I panicked. What could I use to baste it instead? That’s right, I reached for the coconut oil and it was amazing. The crispiest skin I have ever seen.

4.As a hair conditioner. My friend suggested this and it is lovely on your hair. It leaves it so soft and it smells lush.

5.According to a lady at school, coconut oil was the only thing that got rid of nits. This made me feel even better when I was lathering it on in number four. Seriously though, she said she had tried all of the chemical equivalents and coconut oil, melted down and smeared on, was the only thing to get rid of the little blighters once and for all.
Have I convinced you? I’d love to hear what you use it for.
