My Letter from Santa Claus

It may only be mid-September but mark my words, Christmas is coming.

There are so many magical things around for children and, as Boo will be nearly four, I am hoping this year, my own little Christmas elf will understand a bit more.

So recently we tried out a letter from Father Christmas from My Letter from Santa Claus. We had never done anything like this before so I wasn’t sure what to expect.

Ordering was really easy. We choose the Premium letter which at £5.69 seemed fair enough.

You enter your own details and address and then choose the card you want. There is a ‘write your own’ letter option but, bereft of inspiration, I preferred to go for the ready made on which is still personalised.

You then put in the child’s name, age, sex, name of a friend or pet (we choose Rosie the dog) and any other information like whether any big life event has happened in the last 12 months. You also get to put in the name of the toy that your child has asked for this Christmas.

Boo isn’t at the asking stage yet so selfishly, I can buy her what I think she will like and I added that in too.

Then, you check your details and go through to the payment area.

I was looking forward to getting the letter but nothing prepared me for the heart-melting moment when I opened the envelope.

We received a red envelope with a Santa post mark and Boo’s name written in the most beautiful calligraphy.

There was a wax seal on the reverse side of the envelope to the point where I could almost smell the cinnamon and mince pies there and then.

The letter inside was no less impressive.

Again, in beautifully written calligraphy, while I can’t make out if it is printed or not, if it is printed, it looks so real.

The personalised bits are in there (I welled up) and it said Boo has to be in bed early on Christmas Eve because Father Christmas will be flying over the farm first-how cute is that? As well as being helpful.

Also included in the letter is a certificate of good behaviour signed by Santa, Mrs Claus and the two chief elves, Jingle and Jangle as well as a colour-in sheet that Boo can stick in her window on Christmas Eve so that Santa will know she is asleep.

I make no secret of the fact that I absolutely adore Christmas and this really is going to be a new custom in our house.

I am all for bribery when it comes to behaviour.

My Letter from Santa Claus is just such a lovely idea and very well thought out.

Why not get it out of the way so you can tick at least one thing off your to-do list.

*I was sent a My Letter from Santa Claus free of charge for the purpose of this review but all opinions and early Christmas-cheer is my own.
