Personal Planning-My New Addiction

image
I’ve always loved stationary. When I was a little girl, I remember the sheer joy of having a new pencil case. If we went out for the day, I would choose a new pencil or eraser from the gift shop and I suppose this love had spilled into my adult life.

I love gel pens and sharpies and cute stickers.

At the beginning of the year, I like getting a new diary but this year I decided to get a planner. I figured it would save me money in the long run as I would only have to buy new inserts each year rather than expensive diaries.

I picked up a lovely floral Filofax in the sale at TK Max.

Then something happened.

I discovered, in my search for other planner inserts, the whole phenomenon that is personal planning.

Search on Instagram for #plannerporn, #planneraddict or #plannerlove and my word, you will be amazed (I got ecited when the top right photo searched was my attempt at DIY paperclips).

My favourite planner bloggers at the moment are To Become a Mum and Summerfield Cottage and Us. They have the most beautiful planners and are part of the reason for my new found addiction.

Not only is there a whole movement of people, like Emma, Kelly and now me, in love with planning their lives but there is also a community of planners who share their cute stationary finds and even set up their own Etsy stores to sell their beautiful planner supplies to like-minded people.

There are loads of bloggers writing about what they’ve bought, how they use their planners and what beautiful accessories they attach.

For the last few Saturday nights, my #pramporn and quest to watch beauty and make-up tutorials has been replaced with #plannerporn. There may have been a visit to the Paperchase website after a glass or two of wine which was a joy and a mistake all rolled into one.

There are so many things to consider-size, what you’ll use it for and, my favourite-which accessories you will decorate your planner with.

I have a little confession though. The love of my planner is so great at the moment that I can hardly bring myself to write in it.

I know.

If you haven’t heard of this planner craze, I can only apologise. It is addictive and I cannot be held responsible for any planner-habits which ensue from reading this post.

  1. Great post! I haven’t used #plannerporn yet but I’ll be adding that to every Instagram post from now on as well as having a good look at everyone else’s #plannerporn lol Thank you so much for mentioning me in your post and for linking up with the Plan With Me Monday linky 🙂 xxxx

  2. Nice to meet you and thank you for linking up with #PlanWithMeMondays!

I’m the same as you – amazed by what people do with their planners but almost too scared to put pen to paper myself. I’m trying to get more creative when filing in my diary but I don’t want to spoil the page and sometimes my thoughts or additions are sporadic and I don’t want my planner to look untidy. I’ll get over it I’m sure, time to have some fun!

  3. It’s amazing when you discover this world isn’t it…..and also incredibly addictive haha. I only found it at Christmas and I’m obsessed already! I love your floral planner it’s so pretty x
