School admissions 2015

So this weekend I filled in the application for Boo to start primary school next September.

I hadn’t expected to do it so soon. I thought we would get a hard copy letter from nursery maybe in November to fill out.

However, after mentioning it at ballet on Saturday morning, it seems many of the other mums had already filled out the form.

Now Boo’s name is already on a list at our chosen school but, you still have to fill out a form for the local authority.

I cried.

Yes it’s true. I can’t believe my baby will be starting school next year.

Does she look old enough to you?

You might think I’m being daft. Indeed, I would hate to think I was holding her back but it is such a big thing.

Up until next year, the biggest influence in her life is me and the rest of the family.

When she goes to school, she will spend more time there than she will at home and, inevitably, will be influenced by her teachers and her peers.

When I took her to nursery at the start of term this year and saw all the little ones starting reception, I went home and had a little cry because I knew we would be in the same position as them next year.

I know it has to be done. Even if I wanted to home school, I am nowhere nearly good enough at maths to teach a one year old let alone a five plus child. I also understand the importance of interaction with other children her age.

No, I know it has to be done. I just don’t know how I will keep it together on the day.

I suppose like most parents though, I will have to be happy and look forward to the fact that our little miss is growing up and, she’s going to look super cute in her uniform.

Now we wait until April to see if we get our first choice.

  1. I cried quite a lot when my youngest started school this year. I just wasn’t ready! Fortunately, he was and he’s settled in really well 🙂 you’ll be okay. It just requires a bit of getting used to! #ShareFriday

  3. I was wondering if you ever considered changing the page layout of your website?
Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.

But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so
people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot
of text for only having 1 or 2 pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?

  4. Just wish to say your article is as astonishing.
The clearness to your publish is simply spectacular and i could
assume you are a professional in this subject. Well together with your permission let me to snatch your feed to keep updated
with forthcoming post. Thank you 1,000,000 and please continue the rewarding
    work.

  5. Howdy would you mind stating which blog platform you’re using?

I’m looking to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a
difficult time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.

The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs
and I’m looking for something completely unique.
P.S My apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!
