Our half term
Back to normality today. Work for me, preschool for Boo. Half term is over.
Usually I am breathing a huge sigh of relief but this time I have quite enjoyed it.
We started off the week with Boo going to nana’s house so I could do a good clean. I had been ill the week before so not much got done. So, with a clean house, we were set up for a week of fun.
Tuesday started with a meltdown. I thought it would be nice to bake cakes with Boo and had bought a chocolate cupcake mix a week or two previously to have in.
Unfortunately, she woke up in the sort of mood reserved solely for threenagers and wanted to eat the cake before it was mixed, let alone baked.
Thankfully, daddy came in and averted total disaster so the cakes were baked ready for decorating that afternoon. More decoration went in Boo’s tummy than on the cakes and the look of horror on her face when I said we should put some in a tin for after tea (she had eaten 5).
So Tuesday was a mixed day of (chocolate) highs and cake lows but I knew Wednesday would be more of a success.
We went to
Walton Hall Gardens. It is one of my favourite places and I wrote about it here.
Thursday was my birthday. I was 21 again and we went to. My favourite garden centre, Bents for breakfast. Then hubster treated me to a meal at our local pub. Who wants to cook on their birthday?
Friday wasn’t too exciting, I tidied, we went and ordered a single bed for the spare room (explanation to follow) and we played. We play every day but we got the cars and the garage out today (I hid the Happyland tub as a halfterm treat to myself).
Saturday we visited our local park and my uncle was up from London so we had a takeaway. Yum.
So, back to reality but the good news is, there’s only four weeks left until I go on maternity leave-yay.
How was your halfterm?
