The Gro Light, a review

Have you ever got anything which you know could change your life?
I don’t mean a ground breaking change but, you know, something which will make your life so much easier?

Well recently I was sent a Gro Light from the Gro Company. I have been waiting for the nursery to be done before I reviewed it, for the selfish reason that the photos would look nicer with the new lampshade on (separate post on the nursery when I manage to clear the drying washing from out of there).

If you don’t know, the Gro Light is a nifty little gadget which fits on to your existing bayonet light fitting or onto a table lamp and enables you to feed your baby in muted light and check on them through the night without having to put the full light on.

When I had Boo, I tried everything to check her without disturbing her. The big light was too bright, as was the light on my phone which even I would have been angry about having a bright torch-style light shined in my face.

We ended up going for a small lamp turned towards the wall which wasn’t ideal as we both had to sleep in semi-light for six months but, with little else to help, I couldn’t think of anything else. At least I could do night feeds and check on her without disturbing her too much.

However, with the Gro Light, I wont even have to worry about disturbing the new baby. With Christmas out of the way, I asked Hubster to attach it to the light fitting in the baby’s room so I could have a play.

It was so easy, I attached the bulb to the Gro Light and then Hubster removed the plastic light fitting, re-attached the lamp shade and put the Gro Light in position.

It was a dark, foggy winters day, about 4pm so was reasonably dark and I switched the light on. With one flick of the regular light switch, a lovely muted, blue-tone light was omitted from the Gro Light.

One more flick of the switch then transformed the room into a normal light.

I am just so pleased. For a small amount of money (£17.99) all your night feeds are sorted and you will be confident of slipping into see your baby for many months to come with the added addition of a Gro Light.

I just need a baby now.

Gro Lights are available both online and instore from retailers such as Argos, John Lewis, Kiddicare and Mothercare as well as from the Gro Store itself.

*We were sent the Gro Light for the purpose of this review but all opinions are my own and I am genuinely very excited about using it.

  1. I’ve seen these and they do look fab! We tend to use touch lamps as the first setting is really dim, but this is great as you don’t have to have plug sockets available and would def make life easier. Love your lampshade by the way! 🙂 xx #triedtested

  2. Ooh I didn’t realise you could flick the switch again so that the normal amount of light comes on – very clever. Think I may need to invest in one of these. #triedtested
