My Boy is 11 Months Old
I’ve been putting off writing this update. Mostly because I am in denial. My baby will be one this time next month and I just want time to slow right down.
We have eight teeth now. Two came through, just after the 10 month update. He is dribbling away again (Boo calls it dripping) so I imagine some more are making themselves felt.
This month we bought Baby G his first pair of shoes. I feel this is such a big event, I will be writing a post just on that but he is cruising around furniture and can stand unaided-usually with a remote control in each hand.
The babbling is at an all time high. We went to church on Christmas Day and he basically chattered through the whole Mass. Even the priest mentioned him in the Homily which I found both hilarious and embarrassing.
Baby G loves rough play on the floor. I usually am the one to come off worse from these episodes as he likes to playfully nip bite at the end of a kiss. I continually have little round wet patches on my legs and shoulders where he has left his little mark.
You can’t leave him for a moment. I nipped downstairs briefly and forgot to close the baby gate to go upstairs (not down). He was playing with Boo so I thought it was safe for a minute.
It was not safe.
He had climbed three stairs when I got back-obviously zoom-crawling when I left the room. There was a heart-in-mouth moment when he turned around to laugh at me and I did a slide across the room which I can only compare to a goal keeper stopping a ball. I rose triumphant though having got there in time. Only for G to turn around climb the stairs again and then turn around and laugh. I have learnt my lesson. The gate will be closed all the time now.
The main event this month though has to be his first, ever Christmas and what a lovely time it has been.
Both children have enjoyed playing with each others new toys and really liked having different family members around for meals and celebrations.
At Christmas time and, approaching the New Year, I can’t help but think of myself last Christmas. Heavily pregnant and daring to hope for a new bundle of joy in January.
Well he is here and. He and his sister really are the best presents I could ever hope for.

aww Love him! Gorgeous George. I’m with you there on the speed crawling and shutting the gate moment, Little 3 did like the cat food (crunchies, thank goodness) though!!

Aww so many cute photos! It’s crazy how quickly the time passes, my daughter has just turned 9 months which I can hardly believe. Babies seem to have a fast forward button! #MaternityMondays

Your little boy is so cute! Funny you should mention him babbling through the church service and the priest picking up on that, I remember when my daughter was about 18 months old she learnt the word ‘Amen’ and once said at the end of every line of a prayer – the minister praised her enthusiasm afterwards!! The first Christmas is so special, I’m looking forward to my boy’s first Christmas next year.
Aww how is he already so close to being 1?! I remember linking up to #maternitymondays with my first update and he was just born! Crazy how fast time flies isn’t it. He’s grown into a beautiful little boy, I hope you had a lovely Christmas and New Year xx

Reading about not being able to leave him alone for a minute makes me so glad that Aria is still not crawling! I have it all to come to me though.

He’s adorable! They do grow so fast though don’t they? I’m finding time seems to be going even quicker with Gabe than it did with Toby – he’s almost 5 months and I swear he was only just born!
Oh he does look grown up in that bow tie! I can’t believe he’ got actual shoes too! Such a milestone! Glad he had a good first Christmas too!
