Name Button Art
I’ve seen loads of these button art things on Pinterest. I think they are so cute so, I thought I’d have a go myself.
I had a box frame from IKEA so I thought I would use that. I had bought it to frame Boo’s first pair of shoes but, being a late walker, they didn’t fit and the frame was just in my wardrobe.
I took out the paper insert and measured it. Then printed off Boo’s initial and the words and got my creative hat on.
I had loads of buttons lying around but I did visit my local haberdashers to get a few more pink ones and a bow.
I cut out the letter, painted glue onto it and began putting buttons on it.
I was genuinely pleased with the result but then disaster happened. The frame fell apart. It must have been all the squashing I did, trying to get the shoes in.
Unfortunately it was beyond repair and IKEA had stopped selling that shape. The alternative was slightly smaller than the original so I had to do a bit more cutting and sticking.
It’s not perfect but I am pleased with it and it just goes to show you, Pinterest isn’t always crafts you drool at. You can have a go yourself too.
Looks lovely! Well done.
I did a similar thing for a joint Christening I went to this year. Boys initial in toy cars and girls initial in gem stickers. Pretty chuffed with the results. Easier with some letters than others I’m sure! http://www.mummyonabudget.co.uk/2014/05/handmade-christening-presents.html
