Our Hall Way Transformation
The hall way can often be a forgotten part of the home.
A place where you walk through but linger little.
So I was ill a couple of weeks ago and my parents came round to help me look after Boo-which as any parent will tell you, is a nightmare when you feel under the weather and pregnant.
My dad brought with him a tin of paint and painted one of the walls in our hall way.
Until recently, the hall had been taken over by a treadmill (much underused as sporting equipment and more as a pram holder) and I also (ashamedly) used it to hang coats on when the coat rack got too overloaded. So the lick of paint has forced me to address our hall way and I am really pleased with the results.
The colour is called chocolate milkshake and it makes me want to get a spoon and have a taste. I love it.
I bought an inexpensive new rug-not everyone’s taste I know, but you try living on a farm with pets and kids trampling through your hall way.
I replaced a picture with some photos of Boo and a wedding picture and I plan to make this wall a kind of family gallery and in this move, taking picture frames from window ledges and shelves and therefore de-cluttering.
I put all shoes in a pretty box I picked up at Dunelm and addressed what was our Welsh Dresser.
I say was because until this week, this too had become a dumping ground for things I had to take up stairs or letter that needed filing away.
Not any more. It is all clear and cleaned and I am so pleased with our transformed hall way.
I love the colour of your walls and I think photos on it make all the more inviting and cosey.
Lovely Emma. My Mum had a family gallery in our hall, always a talking point, especially me in my communion dress!
