Farmhouse Slaw Recipe

 

I think it is safe to say that warmer weather is on the way and the first thing I think of (apart from getting washing dry outside) is salad.

This is one of my favourites and is as good on a cheese sandwich as it is as a side dish to a main meal.

Obviously, if your family has a nut allergy, omit the nuts but any nut would work-maybe walnuts would make a good alternative.

The parsnip adds a glorious sweetness to the slaw but, if you don’t have one use apple.

As always, I hate making you stick to recipes. If you don’t like something, swap it for something else.

If you want an even spicier slaw, add a tablespoon of horseradish sauce before the mayonnaise and/or salad cream.

  1. This looks great, I love slaw in the summer, so light but flavorful and it goes with everything cooked on the BBQ. I wonder what salad cream would be in translation? It is something that I have never heard of!
