Help C-Section Recovery with Belly Bandit Pants
My first two pregnancies resulted in a vaginal birth and a caesarean section (due to a breech baby) in that order so, with number three, when I found out I would be having another section, I wasn’t exactly over joyed.
I am now almost four weeks-post surgery and I can honestly say it was a much better experience than last time-both at the time and in the recovery afterwards.
I am putting my recovery down to two things. I was lucky enough to have a PICO Negative Pressure Wound Therapy dressing for the first week after the surgery. I will write again about that and my birth story when I feel ready to leave baby J for longer than 30 seconds.
The other thing that has dramatically aided my recovery time is a pair of C-Section Undies from Belly Bandit.
In a tight fabric, similar to that of a bra, and with similar hook and eye fastening to a bra, the C-Section undies feature targeted compression to help reduce swelling and silver-infused fibres that can help eliminate bacteria, wetness and odour-only someone who has had a section will understand that.
The best way I can describe the knickers is that they give you a tremendous support. When you cough, laugh or sneeze after abdominal surgery, you have to ut pressure on the incision area traduce pain-whether it is with a pillow, a towel or just your hand.
The Belly Bandit pants became my pillow, towel or hand when I sneezed or coughed. They are comfortable bit firm and really felt like they were holding everything in.
Indeed, Belly Bandit also do classic shape wear too so I will definitely be checking them out in due course.
Despite being billed for post-surgery, I can honestly see the benefit of wearing the C-Section Undies following any ppregnancy. After all, pregnancy and birth can leave your stomach muscles in general and your pelvic floor muscles in particular, feeling non-existent. Anything that will help them along is a bonus in my book.
The pant themselves are billed to:
I
• Protects incision area and helps speed up recovery
• Silver-infused fibres woven into panty help eliminate odour and bacteria
• Moisture wicking fabric helps keep you cool, fresh and dry
• Compression helps reduce swelling and discomfort
• Supports weakened stomach muscles for easier mobility
• Slims post-baby belly
• Can be used after natural delivery
I am so pleased with the Belly Bandid Undies. They retail at £59.95 which I know seems like a lot but they are so worth it. Not only are they a recovery aid-but you have just given birth to a child. Surely you need a little treat.
*We were sent the Belly Bandit C-Section Undies for the purpose of this review but all opinions are my own.
**Please note I did not look as good as the model pictured after my c-section hence me using her photo rather than mine.
Oh my god I need these!
In my recent abdominal surgery they cut from belly button to section wound and then internally they re opended the section wound from inside
I have found nothing that targets this area and I the pants and bands look amazing.
I have anoth 2 months of trying to use tubigrip wrap that rolls so going to look at these now
I know you really do!! You poor thing 🙁 xx
Hi there!
Thanks for all the info! I’m wondering what size I should get? I know Belly wraps are supposed to fit quite snug initially in anticipation of getting smaller. But is it the sabr with the undies? If I wanted to wear them a couple of days after a c-section should I get a size bigger than I would in the wrap?
They say to go with your own size but I personally would go a bit bigger, just for comfort. Good luck
