Baby Beb is now over the three months stage (how did that happen?) and we have survived as a family of four for 13 weeks. Yay us.
To mark this milestone, I have decided to share with you the items that have made our lives easier. Maybe they will help you.
I have sorted the products into categories for ease and if you see an * at the side of a product, it means we have reviewed it separately. This post however is by no means sponsored and is just what has got us through.
So here are the very first Farmer’s Wife and Mummy Baby Awards.
The Gro Light*
I reviewed this when I was pregnant here but it wasn’t until Beb was born that I truly realised how amazing the Gro Light actually is.
You can feed, change and check the baby without having to put the light on at all and, during those first few weeks when babies are unaware of night and day, it really helps to keep the night time atmosphere calm and subdued.
I don’t think they were around when I had Boo but I wish they had been. I cannot recommend this product enough. It has made life so much easier and I think it will be used for years to come. Added to this, Boo has just started having bad dreams so I am going to buy one for her room to make the dark a little less frightening.
Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine
I have also reviewed this before but is top of my list for feeding essentials if you stop breast feeding. It is so handy having it actually in the nursery so my hungry little boy gets his milk in two minutes. Fabulous invention.
The Snuggle Bundl
If you have a caesarean, you are told not to lift. However in reality, you do have to lift your baby out of the cot to feed it and, for me, this was an amazing invention as I could lift Beb safely from crib to bed without having to fully get up.
It also made a rather handy impromptu weighing aid with a luggage weigher.
Nivea Spray and Go Body Moisturiser
I had such dry skin after having Beb but what new mum has time to stand there endlessly rubbing cream into herself? It is likely you are rubbing cream into your baby not yourself. When I went to Boots for baby essentials, I grabbed one of these from near the tills and I am so glad I did. I literally spray it on when I get out of the shower and leave it. It does say you can rub it in but I never do and it leaves your skin lovely and soft.
Quaker Cuppa Porridge
In the early days when you have little time for food preparations, it was Quaker Cuppa Porridge which got me through. You just boil the kettle and pour it onto the instant oats in a mug. I added a splash of milk to cool it a bit and ate it for a good few weeks for breakfast and lunch because it was so easy.
These babies create so much washing and sometimes, nappies leak. For those times, there is only one thing for it. Vanish. You can use the cheaper brands all you like but there’s only one thing, for me, which got those lovely yellow stains out. If you’re pregnant, stock up. Stock up Now.
What helped you the most in the first three months? Let me know if I’ve missed anything.
