My Wishlist-Corner Sofas for My Farmhouse Living Room

Living in an old farmhouse means the rooms are mostly funny shaped meaning finding furniture can be a problem.

Our living room in particular is very long and thin and it drives me mad because nothing I do seems to make it look any better.

Most of our furniture came from our last house including our sofas.

We bought them pre-children when it was just the two of us and Rosie the dog was at the farm.

In hindsight, a cream fabric sofa was not the best idea I ever had so this year we are on the look out for something new.

Due to the shape of the room, I think our only option is a corner sofa. I really believe it will give us more room either side.

This photo was taken Christmas Eve before we went to bed and is probably the tidiest it will ever be.

You don’t actually ever see our sofa because it is always covered up with throws-both to hide current stains and to prevent new ones.

I would love for the side table and lamp to go on the right with the longest bit of the sofa going down the wall on the left.

I have been scouring the internet for ideas and, to be honest, I can’t get over cream. It just goes with everything and this one is lovely.

Then I saw this one which just screams opulence.

I have got to keep telling myself that I have two dogs, two kids and that I live on a muddy farm. However then this caught my eye.

I love tartan of all descriptions and this is so, so lovely and just what I would choose. The light colour is beautiful but still not very practical for us.

I think for a busy farm, leather is the only option and I like this one because it is tan and will still go with our country theme. This one retails at £1495 which I think is quite reasonable for leather. It is from Fishpools.

I will definitely be petitioning Hubster about this one.

As for the others, I can still dream and I will have to get my dream tartan fabric sofa when the kids are older.
