Olé-our Happyland Missing Person status

All children have favourite toys.
You know, the ones which go everywhere with them.

Boo has Minnie and we’ve had a few posts about her.

If you look closely, she’s on most photos with Boo and she goes everywhere.

There is however another favourite.

Olé.

Yes she is from a ‘people of the world’ Happyland set from Early Learning Centre.

She is the Spanish lady and I am afraid it is my fault that she is called Olé. What can I say? I was thinking on my feet.

Unfortunately, Olé went missing a couple of weeks ago. There were tears but I thought little Boo would forget her eventually.

We also have Cheepy who regularly goes missing and whose absence upsets the child for a day or so but is soon forgotten until he turns up again.

Olé’s missing person status did not get better and she didn’t turn up.

To add to my torment, ELC has stopped making the world set so I turned to eBay.

If you are ever in need of some extra cash, forget stocks and shares. Happyland is the gold of the playroom. Some of the sets sell for more than bullion.

The price for a world people set was eye watering. The thing is though, we still had the other nationalities. We just needed Señorita Olé.

Thankfully, after a week of futile searching, I found a single Spanish lady and paid £5 including postage. While still a bit steep, I was happy that Olé was coming home and, unlike Minnie, Boo is none-the-wiser that this Olé is not the same as the old one.

As a bit of a joke to myself, I told Boo that Olé had been to Spain but she misheard me and the story is that Olé went to space in a rocket,

I don’t care where she went as long as she is back.

I just hope the original Olé turns up so I can hide it.

Aren’t kids funny?
