Our day out for the #GUMIPotteryParty
I think you all know about my painting-at-home-phobia by now. So when we were invited to the Minikin Emporium in Sale by Frank PR on behalf of Growing Up Milk, I jumped at the chance.
Boo gets to paint and I don’t have to clear up the mess-winner.
So we arrived with….
…a chick in a pan and Minnie, obviously and had the best two hours we’ve had in ages.
Thankfully Boo was on top form, which helped.
Katy from Frank PR and Claire from Minikins started proceedings with a little intro of what we could expect and all importantly, how to go about painting the mugs we had been provided with.
We have visited a similar pottery studio nearer home but Minikins really ran things seamlessly.
Boo got her mug and a t shirt to cover her clothes to protect them from pain and she was eager to start painting. She really took it seriously and was having a great time.
Meanwhile the parents were served teas and coffees while Katy came round to talk to us about the day.
It was the first northern blogging event organised by Frank PR and was held on behalf of Growing Up Milk.
The Growing Up Milk website itself is a wealth of information on children and babies of all ages. I do know a lot of mums feel growing up milk is unnecessary but with so much in the news about children lacking in Vitamin D and the like, it does attract me somewhat to think such products contain extra vitamins which our children need.
Boo really got into the painting malarky and even tried to paint the milk jug when the hot drinks came around-oops sorry about that.
The staff at Minikins were really lovely with us all and, when the painting was over, our pottery was whisked away to be baked so that they can be used in everyday life.
We then had a lovely buffet lunch and recived a goody bag.
It really was a lovely day. We met some lovely people. Fellow bloggers and their children, Laurence and Katy from Frank PR and the fabulous people at Minkins Emporium which is just around the corner from the Trafford Centre so easily reached from most places in the North West.
I may let Boo paint more often…
