The Beloved Coat is Mine
Farm fashion. It’s a bit of an oximoron isn’t it?
I would have thought so too but I love clothes and there are few coveted items that have been on my wish list for ages.
A while back, I wrote this post and…….
I am pleased to tell you, I am on my way to ticking quite a few of these things off. Yay.
I haven’t got a Range Rover but….since my old shed Renault Grande Scenic died a death, I have received a 4×4 of sorts. Top of my wish list for a car is a boot which opens like a door and now, I have that. So, Range Rover Shmange Rover, I am quite happy with my Rav 4 thank you.
My car is not the reason for this post though. I have two words for you here that have filled me with unadulterated, materialistic joy and I will not apologise.
Joules sale.
That’s right peeps.
I have been very, very naughty.
I bought the Joules field coat.
On the hottest day of the year so far, I stood in front of an industrial sized fan to try this beauty on. I honestly thought it would not fit or it would look awful but it is gorgeous.
The tweed is such good quality. It has a lining that is so pretty, it seems a crying shame to hide it and the detail like the iconic Joules hare motif are just so exciting for me. Is it wrong to be looking forward to Autumn? I think so, but I don’t care.
Obviously, the coat needed new wellies so I opted for the brown hen design, also in the sale.
Then I got an attack of mum guilt and got Boo a new pair of wellies and a pink gilet (very equestrian-chic).
Baby G also got the Joules farm set which is adorable and more than suitable for any little farmer’s son.
So my little shopping spree is done. My excuse for the coat (not that I need one, I produced a son and heir, end of) is that it is classicly styled, will never go out of fashion and I will wear it for years.
The lovely sheep and farm gate bracelet which I also sneaked in has no excuse. Oops.
I absolutely love this post. I really chuckled at the ‘son & heir’ line
