What Would Katie Do?
Today I have come up with a new manta.
You know how some Christians ask What Would Jesus Do?
Well I’m trying What Would Katie Do?
You see my cousin in America is also a farmer’s wife. She has two children and a much larger farm yet has managed to build a whole house by herself-decorate it and still look after her husband and children.
So today, after I took Elizabeth to ballet (at 8.15am!!!) I cleaned the whole house.
Then, Lizzi had a nap and I am ashamed to say I had a nap too. FOR TWO HOURS!!!!
I felt sluggish and guilty when I got up. I should have been ‘doing stuff’ in that time.
My husband was in the yard messing with a tractor and I even went out and asked if we should get take away food tonight.
He said yes as long as I went for it. I returned to my kitchen and thought- What Would Katie Do?
Haha I’m not joking.
So guess what I did- I put a chicken in the oven.
I have half the children and probably half the farm of Katie. My husband got someone to paint our house after he saw how badly I painted the bedrooms.
Yes I work 2 days a week but as someone at work pointed out recently: ‘Emma your working week is like our weekend’.
So from now on this slummy mummy is going to become yummy, wholesome, thrifty mummy.
When you’re feeling like cutting corners yourselves, feel free to use my mantra….
What Would Katie Do?
I can’t. Because I am Katie, and I got take out tonight….
