Our Last Nursery Half Term
So another half term is over and it’s a bit of a poignant one here. It is Boo’s last half term before starting school.
That’s right. My baby’s next holiday will be summer and then it’s school.
Despite not having any plans we’ve had quite a nice week.
On the Sunday, we managed to persuade Daddy to take us to a garden centre because I wanted some new garden chairs and they wouldn’t fit in my car. We also made a fairy garden and planted some pots.
Bank Holiday Monday helped. We went to my parent’s and Boo stayed there for the afternoon while Baby G and I came home.
On Tuesday we visited our local garden centre which has a story time on a Tuesday morning and we met a friend from nursery and her mum.
On Thursday we went to Smithills Open farm in Bolton. We had never been before and I always like to have a nosey at what other farmers are up to.
Smithills is a petting farm on a massive scale and, apart from a meltdown about an ice cream on the way in, Boo enjoyed herself and even had a go on a donkey which pleased me as I am hoping a pony might be next.
We are having problems with Baby G’s formula (separate post to follow) so Saturday night saw us head to the Trafford Centre.
We had dinner out and Boo stayed up much later than usual. We are usually very rigid with her bedtime but it’s not often Daddy goes shopping so it was a treat.
Following my example, Boo asked for ‘black juice’ (Coke) when we sat down in Chao Baby because a little girl on the next table had one and, as it was a treat, I allowed her her first Diet Coke. Oops.
We then went to the Disney Store where I witnessed sheer joy on the face of my daughter. It was such a lovely thing to see and we left with a Roo for G and a Minnie Mouse vacuum cleaner for Boo which she pushed back to the car.
Quite a successful week really. Back to rushing around tomorrow.
