A bit of me time with Baker Ross
I find most of my crafting at the moment takes place with Boo but before children, there was nothing I liked better than to sit and do something crafty in an evening.
It is worth remembering that places like Baker Ross, while aimed at children in the main, also provide a lot of equipment for adults too. So much so, some of the table decorations at my wedding were from there.
With this in mind, when I had a few minutes spare recently, I decided to indulge myself in a little craft.
I decided to paint some Bird Suncather Windchimes.
Armed with some glass pens, I sat out in the late evening sun (with the baby monitor on of course for Boo and Beb asleep in his pram near me) and had a ball.
The pens were low odour, although it still does advise to use them in a well ventilated area and went onto the plastic like a dream.
The suncatchers themselves are plastic, rather than glass so they are safe should you want the children to have a go. I like this as Boo can play with them afterwards and I won’t be concerned should she drop them.
I didn’t go for traditional bird colours but I am aiming for a tutti frutti garden this year so I wanted bright colours.
Even in the late evening sun, the birds looked amazing when finished and I am now searching round for other glass items to have a go at.
It made me feel better having a bit of ‘me’ time, probably for the first time in a long time.
As well as birds, Baker Ross has many other suncatcher packs to choose from including butterflies, sweet treats and fish. I like them so much, I now have my eye on some rainbow ones to go with the birds.
*I was sent the bird suncather windcharms for the purpose of this review but all opinions are my own.
