Celebrating Summer Outdoors with TJ Hughes
We love the outdoors here. I know most people wait for the summer but for us, it doesn’t really matter if its not hot, you will almost always find us outside-the kids especially.
When it comes to filling my outdoor space, previously, it has been more plastic toys than glamorous seating arrangements but, having had a look through the summer range at TJ Hughes, I am eyeing up quite a few adult pieces to balance out the tat.
TJ Hughes is a discount department store chain specialising in home and fashion, fragrance and cosmetics, technology and electrical goods.
With headquarters based in Liverpool and a store in St Helens, the next town over from me, I have been aware of TJ Hughes for a very long time and, while I don’t get to St Helens as often as I may have done years ago, their massive online presence means I don’t even have to and, with 10 per cent off your fist order well, it would be rude not to.
From chiminea to garden benches and tables and chairs, TJ Hughes really does have it all and they are all at rock bottom prices.
Despite having dreams of adult themed purchases and relaxing after the kids’ bedtime with a large gin, it was a Mickey Mouse patio set that caught my eye.
It ended up being a blessing in disguise though because when the big two start causing mayhem at tea time, I just take their plates out to their outdoor table and Hubster and I actually get to eat our dinner in peace (the baby is as yet, no trouble).
The Disney patio set (which also comes in a Spiderman or Disney Princess option) retails at just £19.99.
Both the table, chair and parasol are really sturdy and has even withstood G standing on the chairs to reach things on the work surfaces in the kitchen.
Indeed when rain has called off play, I have dragged the set into the kitchen for them to have picnics inside.
This little patio set really has turned into the success of the summer.
TJ Hughes also sells a variety of toys for outdoors like these water guns which have gone down a storm with my two little water-obsessed mer-people.
Prices at £4.99 it really is cheap as chips yet with hours of play guaranteed.
It is also having a look on the TJ Hughes website ahead of Christmas because everything I have looked at has been a lot cheaper than other places.
So we may not have the garden I dreamed about but we have two very happy children and I don’t think we can ask for more than that.
*We were sent the patio set and the water guns for the purpose of this review but all opinions are my own.
