Ronald McDonald House Charities-Raise Money and Help Families with Sick Children

It is hard enough to imagine how anyone would feel if your child was in hospital.

Imagine then how hard it is if you live hundreds of miles away from the hospital where your child is being treated. Imagine the logistics. Where would you stay? What would happen to the rest of your family? What if you have other children?

Sadly, for many families, these are questions that they need to ask every single day.

Many families have to travel long distances so that their children can get the specialist or intensive care they need.

Thankfully though, families like this are not alone. Families who are looked after by Ronald McDonald House Charity can stay in the houses completely free of charge, for as long as they need.

In 2016 alone, McDonald’s customers raised £3.9 million just from dropping their loose change into those collection boxes you see on the counter.

McDonald’s has teamed up with celebrity super-dad Jeff Brazer to make a promotional video documenting just how important Ronald McDonald House Charity is to parents who have had the misfortune of having to use it.

As well as that, This Saturday, October 22nd, to help raise even more money, McDonald’s restaurants throughout the country are holding a special jungle-themed day where customers can buy one of four new wild animal soft toys from the Kiosk, front counter and Drive-thru window, with 100 per cent of donations going to the charity.

There are currently 14 Ronald McDonald Houses in the UK and the charity desperately needs fundraising support to contribute towards the funds needed over the next few years to open four new Houses across the UK. The charity has been helping families for over 25 years; providing free family accommodation at NHS hospitals.

They provide a life line-a home away from home for families who are going through enough turmoil as it is than having to worry about being able to stay near to their child.

How many of us visit McDonald’s as a treat at weekend anyway?

Get down there on Saturday, buy your kids (and yourselves) a cheeky Happy Meal and allow these cute jungle critters into your life.

As your children cuddle them, it will remind you of the poor children around the country who need life saving treatment in hospital and their families whose lives are made easier by Ronald McDonald House Charity.

Dig deep. You never know when you might need their help yourselves.

*McDonald’s invited me to write this post to bring attention to the fundraising work of Ronald McDonald House Charity but all opinions are my own and we do genuinely love McDonald’s.
