Summer Infant Slumber Buddies-A Review and Competition

Sleep. It really is the Holy Grail for parents. I don’t think any of us get enough.

Throw a newborn baby into the mix and I think it is fair to say that you will say bye-bye to the little rest you had before.

What if there was a product though which could calm your baby and help lull them back to sleep? You’d snatch their hand off, right?

Well, Summer Infant has a range of different Slumber Buddies which are basically music and night lights in the shape of adorable animals.

I choose a sheep-not just because we are a sheep farming family but because what does everyone count when they are trying to get to sleep?

That’s right. Sheep.

The Slumber Buddy creates a tranquil environment for the baby at bedtime and soothes restless babies (and toddlers) to sleep.

A delightful calming starry night display projects on the ceiling and walls of baby’s room in three different colours and is complete with lullabies and nature sounds and a choice of 15 /30/45 minute auto shut-off which I find great if you don’t want to keep going back in with older children.

Like anything in our house, it is not just the baby who fell in love with our sheep. G also took a liking to it which is handy seeing as he and Baby J will eventually be sharing a room.

We used a lullaby light projector for Boo when she was a baby but seemed to bypass them for G but I do remember how handy they are.

There is something so soothing for babies to look up at the ceiling and I think the act of looking up and around at the light display encourages sleep.

Not only that but our sheep has a really cute face so it is set to be a firm favourite comforter too.

I’m not gong to lie, when I have been lying there waiting to see if Baby J will go back off to sleep, I too have been mesmerised by the lovely light display. It really is lovely.

You never know, I might get so attached to it that I might have to buy another when J goes in the room with G.

We love our Sheep slumber buddy.

Summer Infant has very kindly offered one of my readers the chance to try a slumber buddy out for themselves.

  1. Awww that is super cute! Mini Me would have absolutely loved that when she was younger – thankfully she is older now and loves her sleep, I actually know what lie in’s are these days! Sim xx

  2. in the early days i used a swaddle & played lullaby music at feed time to help them drift off x

  3. I found that keeping a tight swaddle prevented my son from startling himself awake, helping him sleep both better and longer. I like to think of a baby as ‘snug as a bug in a rug,’ and I used to tell my son this every time I’d swaddle him snugly.

  4. I wish I knew! Both of mine have been rubbish sleepers. Gabe is 21 months and still doesn’t sleep all night! My top tip would be try not to get to stressed about it – it’s actually easier to deal with the lack of sleep if you just accept it 🙂 (We also used one of these Summer Baby slumber buddies but it has just given up the ghost after nearly 4 years of constant use so we need to replace it!)

  5. a routine, I have always stuck to a routine, bath, story, bed at same time every night.
